La vie surréelle...

So, have I mentioned that I've actually met Mia Kirshner? Finally?

I can tell you that she is very shy, but also very friendly in person. She is also extremely passionate in her research that resulted in I Live Here. I was simply amazed listening to her speak about what these displaced people... people not unlike you and me... are going through, how they deal, and all of the good and bad that comes along with it.

The book signing was somewhat surreal, yet so vivid. When she asked me who to sign the book to, and I told her... she knew who I was. She was genuinely as thrilled to meet me as I was her. She gave me hug, thanked me many times for supporting her and her career for so many years, through the good and the not-so-good.

I really thought, I'd be starstruck... but I really kept it in check. I loved the feeling of affirmation that she's just a shy but friendly girl, but with the added attachment of celebrity. When we parted, I genuinely admired her, and I believe she thought I was cool too.

So, what's next for this little piece of the internet? That, my friends, is the next little something to look forward to. ;^)
