Greetings, fellow Mia Kirshner fans...
Wow!! Welcome to version 8.1 of the original dedication to Mia Kirshner. Somedays i find it hard to believe that it has been that long, and if you'd told me back then that i'd still be doing this now... well, i'm not sure i'd have believed you. Ms. Kirshner's fan base has certainly grown over the last eight years, and more and more people on the street seem to know who she is. I remember when mentioning the site used to only illicit blank stares.
Some of the awareness has been created from this little speck in the ether. I am truly honored to have played a part (no matter how small) in the fabulous career of Mia Kirshner. I only wish i could do more.
A lot has changed in the last few years. Whether it has been due to the growing awareness of Ms. Kirshner, the persistence of the directors involved in making the films, or even the common sense of making some money on a movie that has already been completed... i am pleased that you can now find *most* of Mia's movies somewhere. If not in your hometown video store, you can find them online, and sometimes from a friend around the world. Several fans have also invited Mia into their home via television vehicles such as "Wolf Lake", "24", and "The 'L' Word"... and it's only going to get better. It seems that when i see something new that Ms. Kirshner has appeared in, i can't help but think that she's knocked it out of the park yet again. I suppose a "hat trick" analogy might seem more appropriate, eh? =^)
Personally, i have yet to make it to an independent film festival. I would love to meet Mia at one of these someday, perhaps even buy her a drink, but i'm afraid real life continues to get in the way. If only there was some way to pay the bills just being "the source" for all news that is Mia...
Anyway, i hope you will enjoy your visit. This site is now HTML 4.01 compliant (for anyone who actually cares), yet still manages to look "somewhat" normal in the Netscape 4.x browsers. Currently Mozilla Firefox is my vehicle of choice, i know that several people out there are stuck with a crappy browser that came with their OS, so don't worry, this has been tested and functions as it should on your browser too. =^)
I won't lie, i thought the last site was gorgeous. However, i wanted to streamline the site, make it lighter, and i think this one turned out rather elegant.
Finally, if anyone has any verifiable information regarding Ms. Kirshner, that wouldn't infringe on her life in any way, i'd love to see it. Also, if you happen upon this site again, M, know that i only wish you the best. I continue to look forward to what is yet to come. =^)
Your humble and dedicated fan,
J
If you'd like to write Mia, please don't send me e-mail, because she won't get it. Instead, take a pen (yes, they still exist 'net-boy'!), and compose a letter.
