I've heard Mia is a lesbian/bisexual, what is her sexual preference?

Ok, i understand the curiosity here, largely because of so many of the roles that Mia has had. However, i honestly do not know what Mia's sexual orientation is. Furthermore, i guess i don't understand why it matters in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe it's just weird because i get at least one of these in the email per day.

Anyway, she mentioned on the Craig Kilborn show that women kiss softer than men... but she didn't really indicate that her interest in women is anything more than taking her role seriously.

Um... while this is a valid question, that's not what this site is about. Also, i'd like to point out that i'm not going to drop what i'm doing just to email someone a list of movies, or any photos that are or aren't posted on the site. Sorry, i've got better ways to spend my time.

And, while i could post the information on the site... i think that to the person who isn't using female nudity as their movie selection criteria... as well as any children who might happen upon this site, it is horribly inappropriate. Do you have any photos of the tattoo on Mia's back in The Crow? I'm thinking of getting it!

This is probably the question i have been asked the most. I'm guessing there are possibly a lot of women (and men?) out there sporting this tattoo, judging by the requests for this i get. Feel free to send in pictures of it! =^)

Anyway, now there is the potential for a LOT more. I finally put together a fairly good size image of the full tattoo from capturing and assembling the pan down Mia's back in the shower in the first five minutes of that movie. Why do you do this? Are you some kind of stalker or something?

I started this site in 1996 after seeing the movie Exotica. Since then i have seen several other movies in which Mia has starred in, and while the movies may not have been that outstanding, Ms. Kirshner's performance impressed me each time. Therefore i've built this site as some sort of appreciation of her work, and to share her with others who may or may not have heard of her.

I'm somewhat offended by the term 'stalker'... which i equate to someone who'd lurk outside her home, dig through her garbage, and send her dead animals to get her attention. While i do appreciate her talent and beauty, and i certainly wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take Mia to a hockey game, i don't lose sleep over the reality that i will probably never meet her.

Why are the updates so sporadic?

The updates have gotten semi-few and far between for several reasons. For starters, i have a job that sticks me in front of a computer for eight to ten hours a day... and after that i usually cannot bring myself to sit in front of my home computer for a few more hours to update my personal stuff.

Secondly, and sadly, beyond "The L Word", there isn't much buzz about Mia's current projects. There are some of her films that have not yet been released in North America ("Why not?", i ask! It's not making money if it's not out there!). At least for now we have "The L Word" to provide us with our weekly dose of Mia. =^)

Finally, i like to think i have a life outside of the box. There is possibly someone in my life now, and i'd like to make things work with her. With a recent story locally about a woman who stabbed her husband's cat because he spent more time with his pet than with her... i'd hate to think what could possibly become of my computer!

I have written a script/screenplay, and I want to contact Mia to star in the production, can you help?

Sadly, i have no way of helping in this area. Perhaps if you can contact Mia through her agent, she would get back in touch with you and read/consider your script. Unfortunately, i have *no* idea how the Hollywood game works, but the best way might be to send her a letter through her agency.

How do I get in touch with Mia?

This is probably my biggest request. For obvious reasons, i'm sure that Mia doesn't want her personal email address posted on some website. Her fanbase is big, and has the potential to become huge, and the last thing i'm sure she needs is to sift through millions of fan letters to find her internet bill, notes from her friends, family, and agent. Besides i don't think that her ISP would appreciate the mail flood that would follow.

I still think the best way to contact her is to use a pen and pencil (or a word processor if you aren't *that* old-fashioned!), and send a letter to Mia through her agent via the good-ol' USPS.

I believe the address i have for that is still current, but i will work on verifying that in the near future.

As far as i know, her earlier works are still available on VHS, and a few are out on DVD. Just check your local video store, or online, and someone can probably help you out.

Some of her earlier works are getting pretty hard to find, and others may never make it to DVD... but if you're resourceful you may just find that hidden treasure.

Bottom line, i'm not. While Ms. Kirshner has appeared nude in some films, and in print, i'm not going to go out of my way to capture every frame of nudity from her films to fulfill some fanboy's desires. It is true that you can find such shots in several places online if you look.

As far as photos that are in print, i may or may not post them to this site. I don't really want this to be called an "adult" website, yet i don't want to open up the whole "art vs. porn" debate on this forum. If i post a photo, it will be among the other photos, and if you find it... good for you! =^) Mostly it is there so that Mia's fans can have a comprehensive collection of images of Mia... which would make it unfair to leave it out.

Previously i mentioned that i didn't think screen-caps were of the caliber that i'd want to display on the site. However with the advent of DVD and HDTV, i have since added several screen-caps from movies.

On the other hand, several images in the gallery no longer live up to my new standards... so expect some clean-up there.

It is not my place to comment on Mia's personally, especially since i've never met her. I would imagine that as an actress, she is really dedicated to her work, and while she is working could be perceived as something that she really is not. Under pressure, how many of us don't experience some changes in our personalities?

I've also heard that she is very sweet, quiet and shy... which is what i'd imagine she is like.

Does Mia portray Arial Tetsuo in the Fluke music video "Atom Bomb"?

I seriously doubt it. Sure looks like her, though, doesn't it??

There are some scenes where i think Arial looks like Mia, but there are more scenes where she just doesn't. I have received email stating that Rachel Stewart, who is a member of the band Fluke, is in the role of Arial. While i have not been able to confirm this with the band or with Mia herself, i see no reason to doubt it's validity.

However, that doesn't explain another report on a website that Fluke was unhappy with the actress chosen to play Arial, stating she wasn't the right fit. I forget the exact words, but remember it used to exist on a long gone Fluke site. I can't imagine Mia being a wrong fit... but i didn't have anything to do with that video either. Whoever Arial is, i think she did fine!

While i'm not against trading links (after all, isn't that what *still* drives the internet??), some links just are not appropriate. I don't care how many hits your Christina Aguilera site fetches, and how many of those would go my way... i just don't see the relevance of having a Mia Kirshner site link on that website, or a Christina A. link on mine!

When did this site launch? How do you pay for it?

This site launched in April of 1996, shortly after Exotica was released on video. I fund this thing out of my own pocket, and i really have no problem with that. In fact, i get a pretty good deal, and my host doesn't appear to have any problems with the traffic this site is starting to draw.

However, i wouldn't turn down the opportunity to become the "official" Mia Kirshner website... especially if i received leaks on upcoming Mia projects and possibly some input from Mia herself.

Can I use the images you have posted of Mia?

I don't see why not. Some of the images are 'branded', some of these i scanned, some were just a li'l more difficult to acquire. They are branded largely because i am appalled at how quickly they proliferate through out the internet. It is freaking amazing! I may as well get some traffic out of that, don't you think? =^)

Can I send you pictures you don't have?

Yes and no. Please don't send them to me via regular email. While i do have a cable/broadband connection, i do sometimes check my mail when i'm away from home, and a four megabyte Photoshop image takes too long when i'm trying to check from a dial-up in some motel somewhere.

Therefore, you can use the 'upload' files page in the Downloads section of this site. It uploads the particular file to the website, and kicks me an email letting me know it is there. Then i can fetch it at my own convenience, and i don't have to worry about what is coming through my email.

I own the rights to a particular photo you have, can you remove it?

While i hate to see a great photo go, i'll be more than happy to remove an image if it shouldn't be here.

I have heard reports that Mia is no longer attending McGill University. While i do not know if she has graduated, or simply decided to focus on her career over her studies, i do know that she is currently living in Los Angeles.

I have considered contacting Mia for an interview or something similar, but i do have issues with interviewing people... as in, i'm not a good interviewer. If she'd be interested, i'd brush up on my interviewing skills, and possibly talk to a reporter friend regarding this. I think it's a great idea, so i'll try to come up with a plan and keep y'all posted.
