First... the rules

Welcome back to the mia-kirshner.com discussion forums. Some of you may be new here, some may remember the old forum and eager to return. Either way, the rules have changed a bit.

While there is no full user registration implemented within the forums, there are now moderators, who will exhibit some control over what events transpire within the message boards. Having said that, i'm relaxing what can and cannot happen in the boards. You may notice there are some cool new features, such as post icons that you may use to help convey the "mood" you are in when you post your statements.

All i'm going to ask is that you follow these guidelines.

• Do not restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying these boards and/or lists.

• Do not post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind, including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law.

• Do not post, transmit, or in any way exploit any information for commercial purposes, or which contain advertising.

• Please keep in mind that while a great number of forums out there allow you to edit your message after posting, this one currently does not. Take a deep breath and count to ten before you hit that 'Post' button.

• Some off-topic discussions are permissible, and even welcome... but please remember that this forum is here for discussion of the life and career of Ms. Kirshner. Chances are, she is the reason you ended up here, so she should be the topic of discussion.

• This is not a political, religious or anything else message board. Please refrain from trying to convert people to your beliefs, because most people here already have their own way of thinking and don't want to be changed. =^) Having said that, a spirited discussion that takes a turn is allowed, just be careful.

• Standard netiquette applies here. Please do not flame or spam or bring up potential objectionable topics not directly related to a role of Ms. Kirshner, or a project she may or may not be associated with. Please realize that the Internet is a global community representing many cultures and political and religious ideologies... be respectful of these differences even when you are expressing disagreement.

  Should you feel your blood pressure rising, along with the urge to say something inflammatory or personally insulting in response to another post, it might be wise to take a breather. After a time away from the "fray," you'll probably have a calmer perspective, reduced stress levels and the eternal gratitude of the other site visitors. After all, nobody likes a flame war.

• Please ask questions if you need help, but try not to get too far off base with questions. Just about any question that relates to Ms. Kirshner is OK, but use some common sense. Also, a quick scan to see if someone hasn't already asked and received an answer to the same question never hurts. =^)

• Because there is no registration in place on this site, there is a fair level of "anonymity" with posting on this board. The person you are communicating with via this forum could be whoever he/she says she is... or they could be putting you on... or worse, they could be a troll! Be careful, and don't give out any information you wouldn't leave on a bulletin board in the commons area of your local university. Your privacy is important, don't jeopardize it! • If you have questions for me, do not post them to the forum. Email me. I do not intend to answer any questions on this board. Sorry, but there are some things i just don't want "out there".

• The moderators shall use their discretion as they see fit to edit or remove any threads that are inappropriate, in bad taste, malicious toward Ms. Kirshner, myself, or anyone else... or even if the post is filled with extraordinarily bad language. Anything not posted in good fun will not be tolerated.

• Remember to use common sense on this board. While there is a remote chance that Ms. Kirshner herself would visit the board for a chat, remember that chance is extremely unlikely... and that she would very likely arrange something through her agent. I believe she would do this for her safety, for our safety, and to assure her fans that she is indeed Ms. Kirshner. Otherwise, the "Mia Kirshner" you think you are communicating with is likely a troll!

• Please help keep the board safe and fun, and DON'T FEED THE TROLLS! The ONLY way to deal with trolls is to limit your reaction to reminding others NOT to respond to trolls. By posting such a message, you let the troll know that you know what he is, and that you are not going to get dragged in.

  Trolls crave attention. Trolls crave the "drama." Trolls want affirmation.

  If you see a post by someone you believe is a troll, and must reply, simply write a follow-up entitled "Troll Alert" and remind others not to respond to trolls. For more information about trolls, click here.

  If you have been "unfairly" branded as a troll, please kick me a note explaining what went on, and a moderator or myself will update the forum.

This is the way it has to be... if you don't like it, go play somewhere else. ;^) I don't think the rules are unreasonable. If you'd like to discuss them with me, kick me a note.

Finally, the views expressed here do not necessarily reflect the views of mia-kirshner.com. In the same vein, this website does not and will not confirm or deny the identity of anyone who contributes to the forum. Please be careful.
